Take Cover Books - PETERBOROUGH (59 Hunter Street East)

Hello all - I hope you are beating the heat this week.  I'm writing to those of you who live in or close to Peterborough.  If so, I would love to see you at my upcoming show this THURSDAY, JULY 16 at Take Cover Books in Peterborough's East City. Show runs from 7pm to 9pm and is pay what you can. Also including performances from some of my favourite Peterborough musicians, David Tough, Matthew Holtby, Calvin Jacob (of vancamp) and Glen Caradus. The show is ‘Pay What You Can’ with the majority of the proceeds going to Kawartha Food Share and the Downie Wenjack Foundation.  Hoping to see friends old and new at the show! Spread the word.

While you're waiting, please be sure to give my newest song 'Peterborough' some spins on your favourite streaming platform - and/or watch it here: https://youtu.be/juWeME4JO_Q  If you tune into Ontario Morning on CBC radio, you might just hear it there as well if you live in the Peterborough area.

PETERBOROUGH

New Single Out Now

My newest single 'Peterborough' is available to stream now on all major streaming platforms!

The song "Peterborough" is a mid-tempo, 'Indie-Folk'/‘Americana-style’ track that is a nostalgic look back at one's formative years.  It is a reflection on how even those people and places we have long moved on from can still live in our current lives in different ways. This is reflected in lyrics such as "Every mistake, everyone we leave- Is still part of who we come to be.......We are what we walk between” and "I still contain all the love, all the pain....and the echo of those days lives on in what I became".  The geographical location of the song is Peterborough - a small university town in Ontario, Canada.  This song is in keeping with Raymond's focus on Canadian locations, icons and geography in many of his songs.

The song was recorded and produced by Jim Bryson at Fixed Hinge Studios. It also features Jim on guitar, bass and synths and Peter Von Alten (Kathleen Edwards, Jim Bryson, Skydiggers) on drums.  Please give it a listen and share it with your friends.

OPENING FOR CRAIG CARDIFF

Saturday, February 28 at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa Ontario

Excited to be the warm-up act on a cold February night for Craig Cardiff.  Would love to see lots of your faces out there this coming Saturday, February 28 at the Biltmore Theatre.  You can get tickets here: https://tickets.biltmoretheatre.com/ordertickets.asp?p=401&src=default

A bit about Craig Cardiff for my friends who don't have the good fortune of having discovered him: "Over the years, Cardiff has found himself writing songs that offer pithy little bits of hope for people to hold onto. A prolific songwriter, Craig has released 21 albums and EPs independently and has found a global online audience that has streamed his songs more than 100 million times. With a voice described as “warm, scratched, sad and sleepy,” Cardiff sings songs that expose the human condition, putting a magnifying glass to our clumsier and less proud moments. He can turn any setting into an intimate affair, infusing his music and lyrics with an uncompromising humanism."

So - break your hibernation and come out to join us.  Hope to see you there!
