Daniel Raymond has released his newest track "Peterborough". It is a mid-tempo, ‘Americana-style’ track that looks back to Raymond's musical formative years in the city — and how they continue to propel him forward. Recorded and produced by Jim Bryson at Fixed Hinge Studio (Stittsville, ON), featuring Peter Von Althen (Kathleen Edwards, Skydiggers) on drums. Accompanied by a video directed by Donald Fraser/Around the Fire Productions, shot on location across Peterborough in early spring 2026. It is the first of 4 new songs to be released in the Summer and Fall of 2026.
OPENING FOR CRAIG CARDIFF
Saturday, February 28 at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa Ontario
Excited to be the warm-up act on a cold February night for Craig Cardiff. Would love to see lots of your faces out there this coming Saturday, February 28 at the Biltmore Theatre. You can get tickets here: https://tickets.biltmoretheatre.com/ordertickets.asp?p=401&src=default
A bit about Craig Cardiff for my friends who don't have the good fortune of having discovered him: "Over the years, Cardiff has found himself writing songs that offer pithy little bits of hope for people to hold onto. A prolific songwriter, Craig has released 21 albums and EPs independently and has found a global online audience that has streamed his songs more than 100 million times. With a voice described as “warm, scratched, sad and sleepy,” Cardiff sings songs that expose the human condition, putting a magnifying glass to our clumsier and less proud moments. He can turn any setting into an intimate affair, infusing his music and lyrics with an uncompromising humanism."
So - break your hibernation and come out to join us. Hope to see you there!
Daniel Raymond's new 4-song EP was released on March 23, 2024 and was produced by Ottawa's Jim Bryson. Canadian Beats notes that "The EP is a testament to Raymond’s dedication to growth, both musically and lyrically...with compelling storytelling, intricate melodies, and rich instrumentation". Cactus Cottage adds "Raymond delivers complex feelings and insight with great musical accessibility. Sometimes things are hard, and the right artistic expression of those things makes them relatable. This EP is a road trip to find our true selves, and it's happening on a beautiful sunny day in a cherry red convertible with the top down and the wind just right".

NEW 4-SONG EP
COMING IN MARCH 2024
My new 4-song E.P., 'What We're Trying to Become' will be released on March 23, 2024 - coinciding with my opening slot with Catherine MacLellan at the Greenbank Folk Society.
Completing this project allowed me the pleasure and privilege of working with Jim Bryson / Fixed Hinge Recording - who recorded and produced 3 of the the songs - and James McKenty - who recorded the 4th track. Both of these fine gentlemen added their musical talents to the tracks they recorded as well. Excited to share with you soon.......

2023 Spotify Streaming Stats
Not too shabby for a year with only one new song release. I've got a new project all cued up for 2024 though -so stay tuned!
Thanks to the folks who listened - and to the algorithms that I suspect do most of the work in getting my songs played. FYI - Slovakia is my biggest area of growth this year globally?! Theories....?
OCTOBER 2023
Playing for my childhood idol - mike palmateer
On Monday, October 2, I was honoured to be invited as a 'special guest' at a private luncheon featuring former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender - and my childhood idol - Mike Palmateer. I was there to play my song 'Palmateer' for Mike and a room of mostly ex-NHL players. A real honour - an extra special to have my son Simon there as well. A deeply special and memorable experience. This is a link to the video accompanying that song: https://youtu.be/0k1miRg_MlA
